Freeholder Candidate Donna Pearson
Donna M. Pearson graduated from Bridgeton High School, Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Sociology and from New York University with a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Ms. Pearson retired after 28 years of service with the State of New Jersey; with professional experience in the areas of aging and community services, community organization, and child protective services. Pearson also served as the Director of the South Jersey Office of the Governor.
Ms. Pearson was appointed to Bridgeton City Council in 1990, elected to a full term in 1991and served as City Council President. In 1997 Pearson was elected to the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders. In 2003 Pearson was elected Director of the Board.
Among the organizations to which she belongs, Pearson is a life member of the NAACP and of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Ms Pearson is a member of Soroptimist International- Cumberland County, of Oziel Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliation of NJ , a trustee of The Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center, Inc and the Southeast Gateway NRP Steering Committee. She is a lifelong member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Bridgeton.
